Then we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Housing with proven housing service and project management experience to join us. 

About us

Newydd Housing Association is an award-winning organisation that currently owns and manages around 3,000 rented properties in mid and south Wales, working in several local authority areas.

About the role

The Head of Housing will be responsible for the supervision and management of the housing team in order to build a positive team culture and to provide a high quality housing service to the Association’s tenants and other customers. Reporting to the Housing Director, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality, customer focussed, efficient and effective service is delivered.

The Housing Services team has restructured in order to build stronger relationships with our tenants and communities, respond effectively to welfare reform changes, and to ensure the team are supported and nurtured in order to perform to their best.

We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to be a vital part of this journey who is able to not only manage and lead but can contribute strategically to our vision.

About you

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with extensive and relevant experience who can demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate a high performing team.

Experience of team leadership and managing a complex range of customers is essential for this role, along with a strong working knowledge of the principles of Housing strategy.

Your workload will be busy and demanding so you will need to be pro-active with great communication and negotiation skills. You will need to be good working under pressure and be able to take responsibility for meeting a variety of customer demands.

You will need to have well-developed communication and presentation skills and be very IT literate and competent in Microsoft Office applications.

This post is based in our head office in Cardiff with some travel to our properties and other office sites across south and mid Wales.
