About us

Newydd Housing Association is an award-winning organisation that currently owns and manages 3,000 rented properties in mid and south Wales, working in several local authority areas. Newydd Maintenance Ltd is a subsidiary company which provides maintenance services to Newydd Housing Association and is built on an in-house contractor model, designed to drive quality customer services, whilst achieving substantial planned growth and expansion.

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Compliance to lead our Compliance Team and to ensure that Newydd complies with all H&S and compliance legislation and obligations. You will be the registered holder for key compliance areas including fire, asbestos, water hygiene, radon, and work equipment safety.

You will develop robust systems for inspections, audits, and risk assessments, along with overseeing the appraisal and contract management process and the compliance planned programmes and budgets. You will also be working closely with our in-house Maintenance, Customer Services, Housing and Development teams to ensure work is carried out efficiently.

About you

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and enthusiastic individual who can lead and shape a busy, high performing team and work effectively with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes. You will need a relevant degree level qualification along with a relevant professional qualification (such as NEBOSH/IOSH/IWFM) or be actively working towards gaining professional status.

You should have a proven track record of developing programmes of work and budgets, managing Health and Safety compliance and staff supervision or line management experience. A highly skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will thrive on working collaboratively and building strong working relationships with other teams.  You will be very IT literate and digitally focused with a passion for developing asset management systems to drive efficiencies and improve processes. You will have strong analytical skills to understand and interpret property data intelligence and make the right business decisions.
