Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 3,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community initiatives.About the roleThe Independent Living Officer Team contribute to the day-to-day operational management of our 5 independent living housing schemes which are in Barry, Penarth and Aberdare, and provide a floating support service to those residents in each scheme that need it; the ability to travel between each scheme is essential.About youYou will have a Housing, Support and/or Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, with relevant and proven experience of working with vulnerable people, in a supported housing, housing, or housing advice environment.A strong understanding of the needs of older people and a detailed knowledge of support services available to older persons is essential along with previous experience of delivering housing support; ensuring residents have access to services and the assistance they need to maintain stable and secure tenancies.You will need a driving licence and have the use of a car every working day. The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and is subject to a renewal disclosure check every three years.Continually improving is at the heart of what we do. About You

We are looking for 9 x Multi Skilled Operatives to carry out maintenance and improvements to our properties and to deliver a high-quality repairs service whilst maintaining our homes to the highest standard. Previous experience in a repairs or maintenance role is essential and you will also need a broad knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of building maintenance and repairs including general plumbing, carpentry, tiling and patch plastering.

These are demanding and challenging customer service delivery roles. You should enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload, whilst also being a team player with great customer service and communication skills.

This role will be working a 40hr week in and around the Vale of Glamorgan, Valleys and Cardiff area, with some travel to properties in Newtown, Powys. You will be part of our paid out of hours rota and a full driving license is essential. The job is also subject to a Disclosure Barring Service (CRB) Check and a renewal check every three years.

About the role

This is a front line customer facing role delivering services across Cadarn’s tenant base. The Safer Communities Officer will work using the principles of “Restorative Approaches” to enable our tenants to feel empowered and confident in dealing with anti-social behaviour. You will provide expert advice and focus on initiatives to prevent and deter negative behaviour to our tenants. You will play a lead role in fostering a partnership approach with agencies including the Police and Environmental Health to tackle root causes of anti-social behaviour within Cadarn’s estates and communities.

The Safer Communities Officer position is a busy, varied and challenging role. You must be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge of dealing with, managing and preventing Anti-Social behaviour coupled with effective planning and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines and to work on your initiative. You will be an effective communicator and team player with good IT skills.

About you

A relevant HNC in Housing or other relevant and proven experience is essential for this role, along with experience within a housing management or community safety environment and of working with vulnerable people and safeguarding principles. You should also have a working knowledge of the relevant legislation for addressing anti-social behaviour and of tenant and landlords responsibilities.

You will need a driving licence and have the use of a car every working day. The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and is subject to a renewal disclosure check every three years.
