Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 3,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community initiatives.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;About the role&amp;lt;/strong&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Independent Living Officer Team contribute to the day-to-day operational management of our 5 independent living housing schemes which are in Barry, Penarth and Aberdare, and provide a floating support service to those residents in each scheme that need it; the ability to travel between each scheme is essential.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;About you&amp;lt;/strong&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;You will have a Housing, Support and/or Health and Social Care&amp;amp;nbsp;or equivalent qualification, with relevant and proven experience of working with vulnerable people, in a supported housing, housing, or housing advice environment.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;A strong understanding of the needs of older people and a detailed knowledge of support services available to older persons is essential along with previous experience of delivering housing support; ensuring residents have access to services and the assistance they need to maintain stable and secure tenancies.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;You will need a driving licence and have the use of a car every working day. Previous experience in a repairs or maintenance role is essential and you will also need a broad knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of building maintenance and repairs including general plumbing, carpentry, tiling and patch plastering.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is a front line customer facing role delivering services across Cadarn&amp;rsquo;s tenant base. The Safer Communities Officer will work using the principles of &amp;ldquo;Restorative Approaches&amp;rdquo; to enable our tenants to feel empowered and confident in dealing with anti-social behaviour. You will provide expert advice and focus on initiatives to prevent and deter negative behaviour to our tenants. You will play a lead role in fostering a partnership approach with agencies including the Police and Environmental Health to tackle root causes of anti-social behaviour within Cadarn&amp;rsquo;s estates and communities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Safer Communities Officer position is a busy, varied and challenging role. You must be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge of dealing with, managing and preventing Anti-Social behaviour coupled with effective planning and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines and to work on your initiative. You will be an effective communicator and team player with good IT skills.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;About you&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A relevant HNC in Housing or other relevant and proven experience is essential for this role, along with experience within a housing management or community safety environment and of working with vulnerable people and safeguarding principles.&amp;nbsp; You should also have a working knowledge of the relevant legislation for addressing anti-social behaviour and of tenant and landlords responsibilities.&lt;/p&gt;
