Then we have an exciting role that might be just what you’re looking for. We are looking for an Estate Officer to join our Compliance Team to complete weekly and monthly checks of our properties to help us ensure our legal compliance for fire safety, asbestos and legionella.

Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association, that offers over 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas. Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 2,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community regeneration initiatives.

About the role

Reporting to our Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for carrying out regular checks to ensure Newydd is fully compliant with its various Health & Safety management plans. Responsibilities also include reporting faults, assisting contractors and conducting site quality inspections pre and post work as required.

About you

Ideally you will have previous experience of working in the facilities or building trade, or within a property or housing environment. Experience of carrying out property compliance checks including fire, water and asbestos is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You will have some understanding of Health and Safety and compliance legislation and will be willing to gain an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, which Newydd will support you in achieving.

We have an ambitious programme of works, and you should enjoy working effectively under your own initiative and managing a busy workload.  You will be IT literate and be comfortable using word and Excel. You will be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and great customer service skills. You will be visiting our estates regularly so you will need access to a vehicle every working day.
