The Cadarn Housing Group is the parent company with Cadwyn Housing Association, Newydd Housing Association, Living Quarters (Lettings and Sales) Wales Ltd, and Igneous as subsidiaries.
Cadarn Housing Group is the parent of the Group and provides oversight and support services role. Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association, that offers over 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas. Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 2,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community regeneration initiatives.
About the role
Reporting to the Principal Asset Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting stock condition and energy performance surveys and identifying suitable properties for optimised retrofit works. You will be procuring and project managing these works and working with external stakeholders to identify and secure funding opportunities.
You will be working on our Asset databases and GIS platform to provide reports and updates, conducting assessments to check the data accuracy and carrying out user acceptance testing within our databases.
About you
We are looking for a positive and proactive Asset Surveyor who can deliver success in this high performing team. You should have previous experience of surveying and a working knowledge of building procurement methods. You will have a proven track record of project management delivering on time and to budget. You must have a genuine interest in the sustainability and zero carbon agenda and be excited about improving our homes and providing affordable warmth for our tenants.
With a degree level qualification in a construction related field or other relevant and proven experience, you will need to be IT literate with working knowledge of MS applications and stock condition databases. A domestic energy assessor qualification is desirable but not essential.
We have an ambitious programme of works, and you should enjoy working effectively under your own initiative and managing a busy workload. You will be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. You will need access to a car every working day.
